Nefeli Themeli is the Global Programmes Manager for the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) and has been a volunteer with the movement for more than 20 years. Her main responsibilities within WAGGGS are the World Thinking Day programme and the Voices Against Violence curriculum, as well as working closely with the different organisations to strengthen the Girl Guide and Girl Scout Experience.
She has a range of experience in developing and delivering educational programmes focusing on gender and youth empowerment with an emphasis non-formal educational approaches and gender-based violence. Her academic background in Gender and Development, from the Institute of Development Studies (University of Sussex). Nefeli strongly believes in the Guides and Scouts around the world having an enormous potential and drive to transform their future and she hopes that this year’s Academy will contribute to this.
