How to reach diverse target groups in society

Scouting and Guiding has always been a place where we state ourselves to be both diverse and inclusive. But when looking at our memberships in relation to the diversity of European society, too often we do not truly reflect this diversity. In this session, we start exploring how we as organisations can develop and adjust ourselves, se we can be both interesting for traget groups to join, but also so ourselves can be capable of reaching out, knowing that it also positively affects current members skills and abilities to live, and interact, in today’s societies.The session is based on an easy to use card game.

This session will:

1. At the end of the session, participants will be able to see reaching out as both a qualitative and quantitative tool with potential for future growth in members, and a tool that can make members more capable of interacting in modern society, that gets more and more diverse;

2. An interest in the subject and a willingness to implement this in their NSO/MO;

3. Experience of working in the strategic processes of their own MO/NSO

This session will suit:

Participants with an interest in growth through diversity and a willingness to implement this in their association.
Experience of developing or delivering strategy within an association will be beneificial.
