Growth Post-COVID19: Informed Decisions Towards Reestablishing and retaining Membership

Year 2021 will be welcoming us with new challenges and different priorities to focus on. How to face the post-COVID reality in Scouting & Guiding? How to reestablish the membership and retain the active members? Are we still able to grow and reach more young people? Those are the questions we will be addressing together to be better prepared and equipped for the possible challenges ahead. The session is suited for participants with prior knowledge and/or experience in growth of a NSO/NSA/MO.

At the end of the session, participants will be able to;

  • indicate the key lessons from the COVID19 pandemic’s impact on the growth of Scouting and Guiding associations in Europe and how the concept of Growth may have changed
  • learn about the best practices in Europe used to retain membership during the lockdown and as face-to-face activity restarts
  • Consider how membership can be retained and recruitment can be continued during any future waves of COVID19, where regional or national restrictions are implemented
  • Consider how Scouting / Guiding will be different in a post COVID19 world, and how to manage and support growth in that environment

Target audience– The session is best suited for people with prior knowledge on Growth by either:

– attending Growth session for beginners at this or previous Academies or Growth events
– experience via a role in the NSO/NSA/MO as a Growth manager or volunteer
